7 Students Ranked in Top 10 AIR in GATE 2024 from Engineers Institute of India

In a recent interview with successful GATE toppers in Chemical Engineering from the renowned GATE coaching institute, Engineers Institute of India (Eii), students opened up about their journey to success and their preparation strategies for the GATE exam. Among them were ParamAgrahari, securing AIR-6, and KameshwarChauhan, achieving AIR-144, who shared their experiences. Both Param and Kameshwar completed their B.Tech degrees in Chemical Engineering from MMMUT-Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology, Gorakhpur. They enrolled in Eii’s GATE & PSUs online coaching program in the session 2021-22, following recommendations from their seniors who had achieved commendable ranks in previous years at the institute.

ParamAgrahari, hailing from an average farmer family in Siddharth Nagar, nearly 80km from Gorakhpur, completed his schooling at SarashwatiVidyaMandir and is currently pursuing M.Tech from IIT Roorkee. KameshwarChauhan, from Patrauna in Kushinagar district of Uttar Pradesh, and Param are roommates in the hostel at IIT Roorkee campus. Both faced challenges initially, with not qualifying in GATE 2022 and achieving an average score in GATE 2023. However, they persisted with their preparations, eventually achieving remarkable ranks in GATE 2024.

In the interview, Param emphasized the importance of clear concepts and thorough revision, following the online coaching lectures provided by Eii. He highlighted the significance of learning small concepts and ensuring clarity in the basics of subjects. Both Param and Kameshwar regularly exchanged notes, engaged in discussions, and practiced with online mock tests and previous year questions (PYQs).

Apart from GATE, both students also appeared for the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) exam and are hopeful for final selections after the interview process. This year’s GATE paper was noted to be slightly lengthy compared to previous years, with qualifying marks out of 100 set at 25 for General category, 22.5 for OBC-NCL/EWS, and 16.6 for SC/ST/PwD categories.

The list of top scorers from Engineers Institute of India includes KrishParadva (Rank-3), SmitMaganlalVadadiya (Rank-4), Tuthika Mahesh Anil (Rank-5), DebarghyaChakrabarti (Rank-6), ParamAgrahari (Rank-6), KevalVasoya (Rank-9), Branzil (Rank-15), and Nistha Roy (Rank-16), with a total of 59 students under AIR 100 in the current result list.
