Cionlabs Private Limited – A Startup developed a Make in India Biometric Access Card

Cionlabs is a Bengaluru-based startup formed by a BITS Pilani alumnus who has created a multi-purpose biometric card that can enable multi-factor authentication without replacing the existing infrastructure.

Cionlabs, which developed the biometric access card MBX in India, debuted it last week at the Silver Jubilee edition of the Bengaluru Tech Summit,  Asia’s most prominent tech summit. The expo kicked off from November 16-18 at Bengaluru Palace. With the motive of Make in India, Made for India, Cionlabs came forward in this mega expo with innovative solutions. This biometric card is considered an alternative to replacing the existing access control infrastructure to enable multi-factor authentication. It supports numerous protocols, such as HID and FIDO, and may function as an RFID access card, NFC card, and FIDO card for laptop login. It is not merely a card but a platform that allows users to push updates to the card through a mobile application to enable various types of applications on the card.

This card is based on patented fingerprint technology by Fingerprint Cards, a Swedish biometrics company that develops and produces biometric systems. This card is exclusively available in India through authorized sales partner Rimus Technologies.

Sanjay Ahuja, the chief executive officer, stated, “This is the first card of its kind in India and can bridge the security gap at an affordable price with a product made in India.”

Cionlabs is an ISO 9001, ISO2001, ISO 27001, CMMI Level 3 organization with all their products as Make in India and has RoHS and CE certifications.
