From publishing acclaimed poetry collections and presenting at prestigious literary festivals to mentoring aspiring writers and pursuing advanced research in performance poetry, she has transformed her passion for words into a movement of healing, empowerment and creative expression.

Ashima Syal, is an Author by Profession. She published two books of Poetry titled " Canopy" and " The Fragrant Fable". She has been a co-author for several anthologies such as Seashore, Snowdust.
Ashima' s poem on " Himalayan Abode" was featured in the Himalayan Abode in 2020. Ashima also presented her Poetry at the Mumbai literary Festival 2025.
Ashima' s interview on " The journey of a Poet and the career prospects of Poetry" was featured in the Global Times. Ashima received the prestigious Rabindranath Tagore Literary Award by DRDC for her literary merit. Currently Ashima conducts Creative Writing and Public Speaking Workshops for college students in Mumbai.
Ashima’ s poetry has been published in prominent journals such as Setu and the Holistic Pine. Ashima lives literature through the realm of Writing. She not only writes Poetry, but conducts Poetry and Creative Writing Workshops for aspiring writers.
Currently, she has expanded her literary horizon, as she pursues her PHD in English Literature, with Specialization in Performance Poetry. Being a writer and a Spoken Word Artist, she traces the intricate journey of written poetry, and how it transforms from the pages of a book to the stage. Recently, Ashima has been nominated for the Global Digi Awards for Women 2025, where she has been recognized for her efforts to generate empowerment through literature.
Ashima won the Beacon of Hope Award for writing poetry to spread mental health awareness. Ashima also won the Bharat Literature Award 2025 for her literary contributions. Currently Ashima is an Assistant Professor at KES Shroff College Mumbai, teaching Communication Skills in the department of IT and DS.
