Curiblox: Made in India STEM Innovation for a Vikshit Bharat

In an age where most children are glued to screens, Curiblox is reimagining how kids learn, play, and innovate. With over 100+ STEM and robotics kits already impacting lives, this Made in India startup is proving that toys can be more than entertainment—they can be the building blocks of a developed India, a Vikshit Bharat.
The Spark That Started It All
The journey of Curiblox began with a simple, life-changing moment. One day, Amiya Kumar Mishra walked into a local electric shop to repair a toy car. The shop owner was missing, but to his surprise, an eight-year-old boy stepped up and said he could fix it. Watching this child display such skill and confidence sparked a thought in Amiya’s mind: What if every child in India had the chance to learn practical skills from a young age?
This single encounter planted the seed for Curiblox—a brand that would one day combine creativity, sustainability, and accessibility to transform education.
Failures That Became Stepping Stones
Inspired by that moment, Amiya, along with his wife Sonali Samantaray and close friend Debasish Swain, launched an online learning portal in 2022 with over 50 STEM and robotics courses. The vision was bold: to democratize innovation skills for children across India.
But the reality was harsh. Most school students in Odisha did not have computers at home, and nearly 95% of schools lacked STEM and robotics labs. Without the basic infrastructure, the platform struggled to gain traction.
Still determined, Amiya tried again—this time, designing a tablet device that could serve as an all-in-one STEM and robotics lab, solving the infrastructure problem at scale. But the project required massive investment to manufacture and distribute, and once again, the dream had to be put on hold.
On the third attempt, the breakthrough finally came. Instead of building infrastructure-heavy solutions, the founders focused on creating age-specific STEM Kits—affordable, portable, and practical. These kits became personal innovation labs for students while also serving as low-cost STEM labs for schools. This idea was scalable, sustainable, and impactful. It became the foundation of Curiblox.
The Team That Made It Possible
During this phase, Amiya’s friend Ramkinkar Mishra joined the effort, adding strength to the mission. Soon after, the startup found its first big supporter when Mr. Bijay Tibrewal stepped in as the first angel investor, providing the momentum to restart and grow.
The journey was further supported by mentors and visionaries such as Santosh Mishra, Subham, Debasish Chakraborty, Agnelo, Vikash Rathod, and Alexzander Das, who played key roles in research, design, and product development. At the same time, Amiya’s close friends Nivedita, Mahavir, and Spandan stood by the team during failures, offering encouragement and resilience when times were toughest.
Together, they built not just a company, but a movement.
Recognitions and Milestones
Today, Curiblox is a recognized Startup India and Startup Odisha venture and is incubated at IIT Bhubaneswar’s Entrepreneurship Park. With over 100+ STEM and robotics kits and toys, the company has carved a niche in the Indian toy industry by creating products that are screen-free, eco-friendly, and aligned with NEP 2020.
